A shoot 'em up game inspired by Touhou. We tried incorporating roguelike elements and still have many more ideas but ran out of time and cut scope. Maybe we shouldn't have spent 2 days making the main menu themes interactive...

Controls:

  • WASD/Arrow Keys to move
  • Shift to switch to focus mode (narrow shots and slower movement)
  • CTRL+R fully resets the game. Forgot to remove that hotkey so be careful not to press it

You can shoot 50 asteroids on the main menu to enable practice mode, where you can give yourself upgrades and practice against bosses and stuff. Sorry, looks like this isn't working in browser either. We had a lot of issues getting the web build working.

Future Plans:

  • mobile build/touch support (it's mostly working but the current tutorial breaks and prevents playing on the phone)
  • more bounties (at least 5 planned)
  • more enemies, attack patterns, movement patterns, etc.
  • more upgrades to increase replayability and more depth to builds
  • updated graphics (add animations, fix/improve existing sprites, etc.)
  • More characters/world building added to story

Overall quality game, but I stopped playing because of RNG. There were runs where I got 3 upgrades early on and steamrolled the stage, and there were others where I didn't get any for a long time. If it were more deterministic in some way, like specific enemies dropping stuff or it being tied to the score would have motivated me to keep playing, but having a run where I go through most of the first stage with the basic launcher and then get the options of magnet, bullet speed, and fire rate at the end makes retrying feel terrible.

Its fine but has a lot of oversight on the design. The difficulty spikes HARD and during a bossfight you're disrupted every 2 seconds by dialogue thats just garbage. Also the soundtrack consisting of one same song playing over and over gets old really fast.

It's a bit laggy... Especially the asteroid level, due to the sheer amount of bullets.

Had fun, though!

It is very fun, but could ease on the difficulty a bit

I though it was hard for my first few runs, but then I got upgrades early (in my first runs I didn't get any) and just snowballed through everything until the final boss. The first two bosses took damage so quickly they reached the next phase and had their bullets despawn before they even reached me, I barely had to do any dodging and most other levels weren't much harder.

Then I died on the end boss and didn't want to start again.

Definitely a slow burn to get to the bondage but this was a super fun shooter! The asteroid level was crazzzy haha. Good work!
